Letting go

It’s getting harder and harder to keep secrets locked inside
I’d tell you if I was braver but it’s something I had to hide
Dozens of times I’ve called you up, just to hear your voice on the phone
But soon smiles turned into tears because then I’d feel so alone
Whenever you find someone interesting and sing her a love song
I’d find myself dreaming, hoping it won’t be long

So much for happy endings, so much for love
So much for dreams that we loose sight of
And just when I thought that friendship wasn’t so bad at all

Then how could I try to love yet to leave you and whisper my sad goodbye
Maybe someday I’ll forget you and maybe the sun will cease to shine
Maybe I would be happy too if someone else calls you “mine”
Maybe I can learn to live with a broken heart
If it’s happiness I can give you when we’re apart
Maybe then I’ve reached my rainbow

That somebody loved you great enough ………..
